Sir Alex Ferguson tells Manchester United to sign Swansea City winger

Sir Alex Ferguson has told Manchester United that they should sign Swansea City’s Daniel James according to a report from the Football Insider.

James is one of the many players who have benefitted from Swansea’s financial problems this season. Alongside many other young players contracted to the club, he was able to break into the first team this season after Swansea’s relegation last season meant they struggled to recruit many new players. James though ended up being one of their best players of the season and was even voted as the 9th Best Player in the EFL in our annual Top 50 Players of the EFL Countdown.

Because of this form and Swansea’s financial situation not improving, it was always likely that someone would swoop in for him. But very few predicted that Manchester United would be that team. They need a spark after another underwhelming season and even though James has no experience of the Premier League, they think he could end up being a star player for them over the next few years.

Any doubt in the team that signs players for Manchester United will have been relieved when club legend Sir Alex Ferguson agreed with them on the move. This report says that he is a big fan of the player and is encouraging United to complete the deal as soon as possible. However don’t expect Ferguson to come out and say this publically as the report goes on to say he doesn’t want to put too much pressure on the youngster.
