U18s at Boro in Youth Cup
Friday, 9th Apr 2021 17:16

Town’s U18s face Middlesbrough in their fifth round FA Youth Cup tie behind closed doors at Bishop Auckland's Heritage Park on Saturday afternoon (KO midday).

The young Blues secured their place in round five by beating Swindon 3-1 at Portman Road at the end of last month, while Boro won 1-0 at Swansea last Saturday.

The winners of the Boro-Town tie will face Sheffield United or Bristol City - who meet next Saturday - at home in the quarter-finals. That match has to be played before Saturday 1st May.

Saturday’s scheduled Professional Development League Two South match away against the Blades has been postponed.

Town have won the FA Youth Cup on three occasions, in 1973, 1975 and 2005.

U18s: Bort, Wyss, Stewart, Baggott, Armin, Humphreys, Alexander, Cutbush, Gibbs, Valentine, Siziba. Subs: Ridd, Bradshaw, Bello, Agbaje, Chirewa, Barbrook, Manly.

I guess @Upthetown that as this game is being played away from Middlesborough's main stadium that there are no video facilities available...this is a shame as I thought that all FA Youth Cup games should be played at the team's main ground?

Disappointing for both set of lads that this fixture isn't being played at The Riverside Stadium, takes away the prestige of the tie.

I've messaged Bishop Auckland FC to see if they have a livestream of their pitch: will post back if they are going to have anything on tomorrow...

I live 6 miles from the Riverside and 21 miles from the Heritage Park - The Stadium of ***** is more local to Middlesbrough than Bish Vegas. Not even in the same county for the lads. Boro's Rockliffe Hall training ground is 15 miles nearer - why not play there?

However, you can watch the match from the Sainsbury's car park despite it being behind closed doors...
