Conor Gallagher is still waiting on a contract offer from Chelsea, HITC understands.
Sources have told HIC that Conor Gallagher has made it clear that he wants to stay at Chelsea beyond his current deal, which is due to run out in the summer of 2025.
Gallagher’s representatives have yet to be engaged in substantial talks by Chelsea, who are keeping their options open.

Chelsea have no plans to allow Gallagher to leave for nothing in 2025, which in theory could be an option.
But, as it stands, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League have also shown little desire to extend the midfielder’s stay, despite the player’s desire, and also that of manager Mauricio Pochettinho.
Gallagher would command a sizeable fee should he be sold in the summer transfer window, and that would be pure profit for the club as he is homegrown.
However, HITC has been told that Gallagher is ‘hopeful’ that a new deal will be finalised, and that he will be able to continue to play for Chelsea, who are keeping tabs on Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.

Gallagher came through the Chelsea youth system. He had loan spells at Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace before establishing himself as a regular in the Chelsea first team.
The 24-year-old England international midfielder has scored four goals and given seven assists in 38 matches in all competitions for Chelsea this season. BBC Sport pundit Pat Nevin thinks that he has been one of the best players for the Blues this season.
In February 2024, Times Now quoted Pochettino as saying about Gallagher: “He’s a player with great commitment with the team. Always trying to compensate every situation in an offensive and defensive situation and that is priceless to have a player like him.”
